| Details | Please join WLS for their second Symposium event on the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on various areas of the law. We will be joined by Jennifer Grady-Paswater, Senior Legal Counsel for the Illinois House Republicans, and Kathy Saltmarsh, Executive Director of the Illinois Sentencing Policy Advisory Council, as they discuss the impacts they have seen within the state legislature. Prior to being named Senior Legal Counsel for the IL House Republicans caucus, Ms. Grady-Paswater served as Chief Labor and Employment Counsel for Public Safety and as a policy advisor under Governor Rauner. She began her career in the Sangamon County State’s Attorney’s Office, working mostly domestic violence and sex offense cases. Ms. Saltmarsh, a proud graduate of the College of Law, has been the Executive Director of SPAC since 2010, where she reviews sentencing policies and practices and analyzes their impact on the criminal justice system in Illinois. Prior to being appointed to SPAC, Ms. Saltmarsh was the Legislative Affairs Director with the Office of the Attorney General.
