DetailsPlease join WLS for their first Symposium event, co-sponsored by PILF, on the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on various areas of the law. We will be joined by Judge Debra Walker and Professor Sally Kolb as they share with us the impact they have seen on domestic violence. Judge Walker was elected judge for the Circuit Court of Cook County in 2008. She sits in the Domestic Relations Division, as the Team Lead for Team E, where she hears disputes pertaining to custody, visitation, property division, maintenance, child support, and domestic violence, and supervises five judges dealing with these same issues. Professor Kolb is a Senior Staff Attorney at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, formerly Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. She began at Land of Lincoln in 1999, and has been licensed to practice law in Illinois since 1999. She represents low-income clients in all aspects of litigation, and focuses her practice in the area of family law, concentrating in domestic violence-related family law. She handles primarily orders of protection, divorces, parentage cases, civil no-contact orders, and stalking no-contact orders.
